Dr. Jeffrey Lee, O.D. Dr. Lee was born in Hanford California. He received his BS in Psychology from UC Berkeley in 1968, a BA in Physiological Optics from UC Berkeley in 1970, and finally his Doctor of Optometry from UC Berkeley’s School of Optometry in 1972.
Dr. Lee moved to Merced in late 1972 and joined the practice of Dr. Wayne Symes. Since that time, Dr. Lee has been a part time clinic instructor for the UC Berkeley School of Optometry. He has also been a part of a practice management consulting group. Dr. Lee was a member in good standing of the American Optometric Association, and the California Optometric Association. He spent many years giving back to the community through the Merced Rotary and Lions clubs. In his spare time Dr. Lee enjoyed cycling, exercise, and travel. He was working towards his goal of visiting each of the 50 states. Dr. Lee was also known for having ridden his bike across much of the country. He was better known for having eaten his way across much of the country! |
Dr. Matthew Lee, O.d. “Dr. Matt” was born and raised in Merced California. He was part of the first graduating class from Golden Valley High School in 1996. He graduated with a BA in Psychology from UCLA in 2001, and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University in 2005.
Dr. Matt is a fully therapeutically licensed optometrist, and a member in good standing of the American Optometric Association, and the California Optometric Association. He is an adjunct clinic professor for UC Davis School of Medicine’s residency program and the Western University College of Optometry. He holds teaching clinic hours in office, as well as lectures for the medical residents at the hospital. Dr. Matt is an on staff ocular physician for the local hospital Mercy Medical center. He is also a mentor for the UC Merced pre-optometry club. He can be found on campus giving talks to the students, and trains UCM student interns in the office. Dr. Matt is also a proud member of the UC Merced Foundation Board of Trustees. Dr. Matt is married with two children. In his spare time he enjoys traveling with his family and searching the country for new and delicious places to eat. He is also an avid cyclist and races for Bell Real Estate Cycling Team out of Turlock CA. |
Dr. Pahoua Vue, O.D. Dr. Vue was born in Laos, her family moved to the united states in 1978 and settled in Merced California where Dr. Vue was raised. She is a 1992 graduate of Merced High School. She graduated from University of California at Davis in 1997 with a degree in Microbiology and an English minor. Dr. Vue earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry in 2001. She is a member in good standing of the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Association. She is a former board member of the San Joaquin Optometric Association.
In her spare time Dr. Vue enjoys travel, food, music, and adventure! In her spare time she can be found hiking, camping, and snow boarding in the winter. Dr. Vue's travels have taken her across the country, and to several international destinations. |
Dr. Protiva Khan, O.D. Dr. Khan was born in Doha, Qatar. She and her family moved to the United States in 1993 and settled in Los Angeles California where she was raised. Dr. Khan graduated from Francisco Bravo High School in 2008. She graduated with a degree in Psycho-Biology from UCLA 2012. Dr. Khan earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from State University of New York College of Optometry in 2017. She completed a residency in ocular disease at the BronxCare Health System in 2018, and became a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry in 2018.
Dr. Khan enjoys travel and cooking in her spare time. She is always in search of great new restaurants. Dr. Khan is an avid reader and always looking for the next good book. Dr. Khan speaks fluent bengali and medical spanish. |
Dr Verena Zeng, O.D. Dr. Verena Zeng is a native of Modesto, California. She attended San Francisco State University, where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, emphasizing in physiology, in 2019. Dr. Zeng then moved to Southern California to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree from Western University of Health Sciences, and joined the team at Lee and Associates Eyecare shortly after. Aside from providing primary eyecare, Dr. Zeng’s clinical areas of focus include the management and treatment of ocular disease. She has also developed an interest in pediatric optometry and hopes to spread awareness of the importance of establishing regular vision check-ups from an early age.
Dr. Zeng is fluent in Mandarin-Chinese and has sufficient knowledge of medical Spanish. When away from work, Dr. Zeng enjoys playing the piano, hiking, video games, or being cozied up in a cute cafe, with the companionship of an epic fantasy novel. Her heart and soul also belong to her Shiba Inu, Coco. |
