Assessing the health of children’s eyes and vision is especially important at Lee & Associates Optometrists. One in four children has a vision problem that may interfere with learning and development. This is why our younger patients receive special attention. Children should have their first examination by 3-4 years of age. Even if no problems are noted during the exam, children should be examined annually. This allows the doctors to monitor for any sudden changes in vision or lags in binocular function, which can lead to learning difficulties. The comprehensive examination performed before children enter school meets the requirements for the pre-kindergarten eye examination required of all children by the State of California. At Lee & Associates we have techniques and equipment available to us that allow for a completely non-invasive eye exam, eliminating the "fear of going to the doctor" for your child.
